Pinom 10 Tablet 15

Pinom-10 Tablet is used for managing the following health conditions:

• High blood pressure in adults

• Hypertension in adolescents aged between 6 to 16 years

• Preventing heart attacks caused by high blood pressure

• Reducing stroke risks linked with hypertension

• Minimising kidney problems due to sustained high blood pressure

• Swallow the tablet whole with enough water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Do not adjust the dose without consulting your doctor.

• If you wish to stop taking this medicine, do so only after discussing it with your doctor.

Pinom-10 Tablet is taken orally.

Pinom-10 Tablet comprises Olmesartan Medoxomil (10 mg), which works on your body as follows:

• Angiotensin II Receptor Blockage: Olmesartan acts by selectively blocking the binding of a hormone called angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in the muscles lining your blood vessels. Angiotensin II is a potent hormone that causes your blood vessels to narrow. By blocking its action, Olmesartan promotes the widening of blood vessels, which helps to lower your blood pressure.

• Reduction in Peripheral Resistance: By causing your blood vessels to widen, Olmesartan reduces the resistance to blood flow in your peripheral blood vessels. This further assists in lowering your blood pressure.

• Decrease in Sodium Reabsorption and Aldosterone Secretion: Olmesartan also reduces the reabsorption of sodium and the secretion of a hormone called aldosterone. This contributes to a decrease in your blood pressure.

• Keep Pinom-10 Tablet in its original packaging to protect it from moisture.

• Store at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Place the medicine in a secure location, out of reach of children.

• Always check the expiry date and use before that date.

• Regular physical activity can help manage hypertension. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise, like brisk walking, most days of the week.

• Limit sodium intake in your diet. Opt for fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins, and avoid processed foods which are often high in salt.
