Piosys-15 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults

• Improving glycemic control in type 2 diabetes patients

• Restoring the body's sensitivity to insulin

• Assisting in the prevention of kidney damage due to diabetes

• Helping prevent nerve problems associated with diabetes

• Aiding in reducing the risk of limb amputations from diabetic complications

• Helping prevent sexual dysfunction caused by diabetes

• Reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke in diabetic patients

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Do not take more than the advised dose without consulting your doctor.

• Remember, it's important not to stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Piosys-15 Tablet is taken orally.

Piosys-15 Tablet contains pioglitazone (15 mg) which works on your body through the following mechanisms:

• Agonist of PPAR-γ: Pioglitazone is an agonist of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPAR-γ). This means it activates these receptors, which are involved in controlling genes related to glucose and fat metabolism.

• Increases Insulin Sensitivity: By activating PPAR-γ nuclear receptors, pioglitazone increases the sensitivity of insulin-dependent tissues like your adipose tissue (fat), skeletal muscles, and liver. This results in more efficient use of glucose and a decrease in glucose production by your liver.

• Blood Lipids Management: Besides managing your blood sugar levels, pioglitazone also manages your blood lipids. It reduces triglyceride levels (a type of fat) in your blood and increases high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, often referred to as the 'good' cholesterol.

• Store Piosys-15 Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep the medicine away from light and moisture.
