Prusent 2 Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of chronic idiopathic constipation in adults, a condition where you struggle to pass stools regularly and easily, lasting for at least 3 months with no known disease or medication causing it.

• Assistance when other constipation treatments, such as laxatives, have failed to provide sufficient relief.

• Enhancing bowel movements and increasing intestinal motility

• Promoting gastric emptying

Here are some instructions while taking Prusent 2 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Avoid crushing, chewing or breaking the tablet.

• Always take your medicine at the same time each day for optimal results.

• Always consult your doctor before changing any aspects of how you take this medicine.

Prusent 2 Tablet is taken orally.

Prusent 2 Tablet contains prucalopride (2 mg), which acts on the body as follows:

• Activates 5-HT4 Receptors: Prucalopride works by activating specific receptors known as serotonin 5-HT4 receptors in your intestinal walls.

• Promotes Gastrointestinal Peristalsis: By activating these receptors, prucalopride indirectly increases the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that promotes contractions in your intestines. These contractions help move food and waste through your digestive tract more effectively.

• Relieves Chronic Constipation: The increased peristalsis and contractions induced by prucalopride effectively restore normal bowel function and provide relief from chronic constipation.
