Rantac Mint Flavour Syrup 100ml

Rantac Syrup is used in the following conditions:

• Duodenal ulcers: This syrup helps heal duodenal ulcers by decreasing stomach acid production, allowing the ulcers to heal and relieving associated discomfort.
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: It is a rare condition where tumours develop in the pancreas or duodenum, causing excessive release of the hormone gastrin. Gastrin stimulates the stomach to produce more acid, leading to severe hyperacidity and ulcers. This syrup can be part of the treatment plan to manage acid hypersecretion in individuals with zollinger-ellison syndrome.
• Systemic mastocytosis: This syrup also reduces gastrointestinal symptoms due to the accumulation of WBCs in the gastrointestinal tract (systemic mastocytosis). 
• Benign gastric ulcer: This syrup also aids the healing process of benign gastric ulcers, minimising acid-related symptoms and promoting ulcer recovery.
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): This syrup can also reduce heartburn symptoms, backflow of food, and other stomach discomforts caused by acid reflux.
• Erosive esophagitis: This syrup also helps heal erosive esophagitis by reducing acid exposure to the oesophagus, thus reducing inflammation and discomfort.

• Shake it well before use.
• Use the provided measuring cup or dropper to measure the correct dose of the syrup.
• Keep the bottle well-capped after use.
• This medicine is sugar-based and needs caution for use in diabetic patients. If you have diabetes, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Rantac Syrup is taken orally.

Rantac Syrup contains the following component:

• Ranitidine (75 mg): It is a histamine h2 antagonist that inhibits the action of histamine on stomach cells. Doing so reduces the production of gastric acid to manage various gastrointestinal issues related to excess stomach acid. This acid-suppressing action reduces the symptoms of hypersecretory conditions such as ulcers, GERD, and zollinger-ellison syndrome. Also, it helps the healing of the stomach.

• Store this medicine at a temperature below 30 ºC.
• Protect it from light.
• Do not freeze.
• Keep Rantac Syrup away from children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.

• Eat smaller, more frequent meals to avoid excessive stress on your digestive system.
• Avoid spicy, acidic, fatty, and fried foods till your stomach heals.
• Limit caffeine and alcohol intake, which can stimulate acid production and worsen symptoms.
• Eat slowly, chew thoroughly, and avoid overeating to aid digestion and prevent discomfort.
• To prevent nighttime acid reflux, try to finish eating at least 2-3 hours before bedtime.
• Incorporate bananas into your diet. Bananas are gentle on the stomach and can help absorb excess stomach acid.
