Regulate 5 MG Tablet 10

Regulate Tablet has the following uses:

• Managing premenstrual syndrome (PMS)

• Controlling painful or heavy menstrual periods, also known as dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia

• Managing endometriosis, a condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the womb starts to grow in other parts of the body

• Postponing menstruation for various reasons

• In combination with oestrogen, it forms part of hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) for postmenopausal women who still have their uterus

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day.

• It can be taken with or without food.

• Always follow your doctor's instructions about how and when to take this medicine.

Regulate Tablet is taken orally.

Regulate Tablet consists of norethisterone (5 mg), which works as follows:

• Ovulation Suppression: Norethisterone inhibits the release of gonadotropins (FSH and LH) from the pituitary gland, which are hormones that trigger ovulation.

• Cervical Mucus Thickening: The presence of norethisterone increases the viscosity of cervical mucus, making it more challenging for sperm to enter the uterus.

• Endometrium Alteration: Norethisterone modifies the lining of the uterus (the endometrium) in a way that prevents a fertilised egg from attaching itself.

• Menstrual Cycle Regulation: When you stop taking norethisterone, it brings about a withdrawal bleed that mimics a regular menstrual cycle.

• Keep Regulate Tablet in a cool, dry place at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Protect it from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

• Ensure it's safely out of reach of children.

• Always check the expiry date before taking the medicine.

• For menstrual disorder management, try to incorporate iron-rich foods like spinach and lentils into your diet. This can help replenish iron lost during heavy periods.

• If you're using Regulate Tablet for endometriosis, regular exercise might help manage symptoms by reducing estrogen levels.
