Rizact-5 Tablet is used for the following:

• Alleviating acute migraine attacks: This medicine helps to manage severe migraines, with or without the presence of an 'aura', which is a warning feeling experienced before a migraine begins.

• Managing sensory discomfort in migraines: It helps to decrease the severity of debilitating symptoms associated with migraines, such as sensitivity to light, sound, and strong odours.

• Reducing inflammation-related pain during migraines: Rizact-5 Tablet also works by minimising inflammation and related discomfort during a migraine episode.

Here are some guidelines on how to take Rizact-5 Tablet:

• Follow the dosage and timing instructions provided by your doctor precisely.

• Do not change or exceed the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.

• Consult your doctor before discontinuing the medication; do not stop taking it without their guidance.

• Adhere to the dietary recommendations given by your doctor.

Rizact-5 Tablet is taken orally.

Rizact-5 Tablet contains rizatriptan (5 mg), which influences the body in the following ways:

• Serotonin Receptor Activation: The active ingredient in Rizact-5, rizatriptan, binds to and activates serotonin (5-HT) 1B/1D receptors found on blood vessels inside the brain and sensory nerves of the trigeminal system.

• Cranial Vessel Constriction: Once activated, these receptors result in a narrowing of cranial blood vessels which is thought to relieve migraine symptoms.

• Neuropeptide Release Inhibition: Rizatriptan also inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory neuropeptides which may contribute to migraine pain. This adds another dimension to its migraine management capabilities.

• Store Rizact-5 Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Avoid exposing the medicine to extreme heat, light or moisture.

• Keep it placed securely out of reach of children.

• Remember to check the expiry date and use the medicine before it expires.

• Migraine triggers can vary for each person. Keeping a food diary might help you identify certain food and drinks that lead to migraines. Common ones include aged cheese, alcohol, and caffeine.

• Regular physical activity can help manage stress levels which is important as stress can often trigger migraines. However, be cautious not to overexert yourself as intense exercise can also cause migraines for some individuals.
