Salazar Tablet is used for managing the following conditions:

• Ulcerative colitis: A long-lasting inflammation and ulcers in the colon and rectum.

• Crohn's disease: An inflammation that can affect any part of your digestive tract.

• Rheumatoid arthritis: A long-term condition causing pain, swelling and stiffness in the joints.

• Juvenile idiopathic arthritis: This causes joint inflammation, pain, and stiffness in children. The delayed-release form of Salazar Tablet is used for this condition.

• Ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis: These are conditions that cause inflammation, pain, and stiffness in the spine and joints.

Here are some guidelines on how to take Salazar Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Remember, it's important not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Salazar Tablet is taken orally.

Salazar Tablet contains sulfasalazine (500 mg) which works on the body in the following ways:

• Reduces Inflammation: Sulfasalazine acts by reducing inflammation in the body. It works locally in the intestines and helps manage inflammation caused by certain conditions.

• Inhibits Prostaglandins: Sulfasalazine is thought to inhibit the production of inflammatory chemicals called prostaglandins. These are substances in the body that contribute to inflammation and pain.

• Splits into Two Components: After you take it, gut bacteria break sulfasalazine down into two components sulfapyridine and 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA). The anti-inflammatory effects are mainly due to 5-ASA, while sulfapyridine may contribute to some side effects.

• Keep it away from direct light, heat and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.
