Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet belongs to a group of antibiotics used to treat various bacterial infections in the skin, bones, ears, throat, lungs, and urinary tract. It is essential to remember that this medicine is not effective against viral infections.

Both adults and children over the age of one year can use Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet, but the right dose should be prescribed by a doctor. You can take these tablets with or without food for convenience.

It is important to complete the entire course of antibiotics as recommended by the doctor, even if you start feeling better. Avoid stopping the medicine too soon, as this might cause the infection to come back and delay the healing process. By following your doctor's instructions carefully, you can ensure the effective treatment of bacterial infection and promote better health.

Directions for Use of Sporidex Cv 375 Tablet

1. Swallow it as a whole.

2. Do not chew or crush the tablet.

3. Medicine dose and duration must be prescribed by your Doctor.

4. It can be taken with or without food.

Oral.

Diarrhoea
Thrush
Nausea
Vomiting
Indigestion
Abdominal pain

Managing the Side Effects:

Take the medicine at the dose prescribed by the doctor. Avoid overdosing. The side effects may subside after a few days. No special remedies may be needed for reducing side effects. Visit the nearest emergency department of your local hospital if the side effects stay for more than a few days.

Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet has a combined action of Potassium clavulanate (a beta-lactamase inhibitor) and Cephalexin (cephalosporin antibiotic). Cephalexin acts on bacterial cell surfaces and prevents the formation of bacterial protective cell barriers, whereas potassium clavulanate enhances Cephalexin's activity. Their combined action kills bacteria and prevents infection to reappear.

Pregnancy

Immediately inform your doctor if you are pregnant. Take Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet if only prescribed by the doctor.

Breastfeeding

Immediately inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding. The medicine enters breast milk only at low levels. Take Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet if only prescribed by the doctor.

Alcohol

To avoid side effects, avoid consuming alcohol while you are taking Sporidex-CV 375 Tablets.

Liver

Immediately inform your doctor if you have any liver problems. Take Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet if only prescribed by the doctor.

Kidney

Immediately inform your doctor if you have any kidney problems. Take Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet if only prescribed by the doctor.

Using Machines & Driving

Taking Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet may affect driving ability or the use of heavy machines. The medication can lead to dizziness and drowsiness. It is advised to not perform activities that require high mental alertness. Follow your doctor's advice in case of an emergency.

Allergy

Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet may show allergic symptoms as a side effect. Please seek immediate medical attention if you observe skin rash, itching/swelling (of the face/tongue/throat), dizziness, breathing issues, etc.

Children

The dose regimen may change for children based on the nature of the bacterial infection. Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet is safe for children if prescribed by a doctor.

Older Patients

Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet is safe for older patients if prescribed by a doctor.

Drug-Drug Interactions

Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet 10's has severe interaction with the Cholera vaccine.
It has moderate interactions with gentamicin, tobramycin, and cefuroxime antibiotics.
It may have moderate interactions with oral contraceptives like Ethinyl Estradiol and medicines used to manage heart problems such as Warfarin.
Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet can interact with some diuretic medicines such as furosemide.
It can also interact with probenecid which is used to prevent gout and gouty arthritis,
Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet moderately interacts with metformin which is used to manage diabetes, and medicines used to manage leukaemia (e.g. dasatinib).

Drug-Food Interactions

No drug-food interactions have been reported for Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet.

Drug-Disease Interactions

Colitis: Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet may kill both the good and the bad bacteria in the gut. Lack of good bacteria in the gut can increase gut inflammation in diseases such as colitis. Colitis is swelling of the gut lining. One must be careful while taking Sporidex-CV 375 tablets if they have disorders of the digestive system.
Seizure disorders: Seizures are diseases of the nervous system. Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet may trigger fits and seizures in people who already have seizure disorders. One must continue taking seizure medications along with Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet. Doctors can adjust the dose when they are informed about any existing seizure disorders.
Kidney disease: Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet is filtered by the kidney and moved out of the body through urine. In some cases taking Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet may cause kidney problems. Doctors can adjust the dose based on your clinical condition.

Daily Dose

As prescribed by your doctor.

Over Dose

Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Visit the nearest emergency department of your local hospital in the event of overdosage.

Missed Dose

Continue to take the next dose when it is due. Do not take two doses at a time if you miss one dose.

Store in a cool (below 30 degrees Celsius) and dry place away from sunlight.

Avoid using tobacco.
Avoid consuming alcohol to prevent side effects.
Avoid foods that affect the action of antibiotics and are rich in calcium (e.g. grapefruit).
Eat fibre-rich whole grains, bananas, broccoli, peas, berries, beans, and lentils. These foods can reduce symptoms of diarrhoea.
Eat foods rich in probiotics such as yoghurt/curd, kefir, sauerkraut, tempeh, kimchi, miso, kombucha, buttermilk, natto, and cheese to produce good bacteria in the gut.

Sporidex-CV 375 Tablet can be taken either before or after food. The medicine may start to work a little sooner if it is taken before food.
Inform your doctor immediately if you observe redness and itching in the mouth or vagina (thrush) after taking this medicine.
Inform your doctor if you find blood in your stools or diarrhoea. But side effects should stop when your medicine course is complete.
