Tamsin D Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in adult men with an enlarged prostate

• Reducing lower urinary tract symptoms associated with BPH such as difficulty initiating urination

• Improving weak urine stream caused by BPH

• Controlling frequent or urgent need to urinate due to BPH

• Lowering increased frequency of nighttime urination (nocturia) resulting from BPH

• Assisting with the feeling of incomplete bladder emptying associated with BPH

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not chew, cut, or crush the tablet as it could impact its extended-release properties.

• Take the tablet approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day.

• It's crucial not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Tamsin D Tablet is taken orally.

Tamsin D Tablet comprises two active ingredients:

• Dutasteride (0.5 mg): Dutasteride works as a type 1 and type 2 5α-reductase inhibitor. In simpler terms, it blocks the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone mainly responsible for prostate growth. By doing so, dutasteride helps to reduce DHT levels and shrink the enlarged prostate gland, thus improving BPH symptoms.

• Tamsulosin (0.4 mg): Tamsulosin acts as an α1-adrenergic receptor antagonist. This means it helps to relax the smooth muscles in your prostate and bladder neck. This action improves urine flow and reduces BPH symptoms such as frequent urination or straining during urination.

• Store Tamsin D Tablet in its original packaging to protect it from light and moisture.

• Keep the medicine in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat.

• Always ensure the medicine is out of reach of children.

• Remember to use the medicine before its expiry date.
