Taxim Injection is used for the following:

• Management of lower respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia

• Controlling urinary tract infections

• Handling skin and soft tissue infections

• Dealing with bone and joint infections

• Management of septicaemia, a blood infection

• Controlling meningitis and other central nervous system infections

• Handling intra-abdominal infections

• Managing pelvic inflammatory disease and other gynaecological infections

• Controlling gonorrhoea, a sexually transmitted infection

• Prevention of postoperative infections as surgical prophylaxis

Administer Taxim Injection as follows:

• This medicine is administered by a healthcare professional.

• It can be given intramuscularly or intravenously. For severe infections, intravenous administration is preferred.

• Always consult your doctor for specific advice regarding the use of this medicine.

• Dissolve the content in 2 ml of sterile water for the injections provided.

• Once reconstituted, any unused portion of the solution should be discarded.

Taxim Injection contains cefotaxime (250 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Inhibits Bacterial Cell Wall Synthesis: Cefotaxime disrupts the formation of bacterial cell walls by targeting and deactivating enzymes known as penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). These PBPs are responsible for cross-linking peptidoglycan, a crucial component of bacterial cell walls.

• Induces Bacterial Lysis: By interrupting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, cefotaxime causes bacteria to lyse or break apart and die. This action helps in managing the infection effectively.

• Keep Taxim Injection in a cool place, ideally below 30°C.

• Shield it from direct light.
