• Piperacillin (1000 mg): This element is a broad-spectrum semisynthetic penicillin antibiotic that works by hindering the development of bacterial cell walls. It attaches to and nullifies enzymes known as penicillin-binding proteins which play a vital role in creating bacterial cell walls. Ultimately, this disruption leads to the breakdown and death of bacteria.

• Tazobactam (125 mg): This component is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which works in tandem with piperacillin to tackle bacterial resistance. Certain bacteria produce beta-lactamase enzymes that can break down penicillins and make them ineffective.
