Telma 20 Tablet is used for:

• Managing essential hypertension in adults

• Reducing the risk of heart attack in high-risk individuals aged 55 years or older

• Decreasing the probability of stroke in patients who are at high risk and above 55 years old

• Helping to prevent serious complications associated with hypertension, including heart disease, kidney damage, and vision problems

• Assisting in improving heart health by reducing the workload on the heart.

Here's how you should take Telma 20 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• You can take it with or without food.

• It's best to take your medicine at the same time each day for optimal blood pressure control.

• Don't stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Telma 20 Tablet is taken orally.

Telma 20 Tablet contains telmisartan (20 mg) which works on the body in the following ways:

• Blocks Angiotensin II: Telmisartan works by selectively blocking angiotensin II, a hormone that causes constriction of blood vessels. This action helps relax the blood vessels.

• Lowers Blood Pressure: By preventing the action of angiotensin II, telmisartan allows blood to flow more easily through the vessels, thereby reducing blood pressure. This effect is independent of the specific pathways involved in angiotensin II synthesis.

• Store Telma 20 Tablet in a tightly sealed container at room temperature, not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep the medicine protected from light and moisture to maintain its efficacy.

• Always keep this medicine out of the reach of children to prevent accidental consumption.

• Use the medication before the expiry date indicated on the packaging.

• A diet high in salt can contribute to increased blood pressure. Try to reduce your sodium consumption by eating less processed food and adding less salt when cooking or eating meals.

• Doing regular physical activity can help manage your blood pressure levels. Try to incorporate moderate aerobic exercise, such as brisk walking or cycling, into your routine for at least 150 minutes per week.
