Telsar CH 40/6.25 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing high blood pressure in adults

• Initial therapy in patients who need multiple medicines to control their blood pressure

• Substitution therapy in patients not adequately controlled on Telmisartan or Chlorthalidone alone

• Protect against stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems in patients with high blood pressure

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing, chewing, or splitting the tablet.

Telsar CH 40/6.25 Tablet works effectively due to the combined action of its two components:

• Chlorthalidone (6.25 mg): This is a thiazide-like diuretic. It works by increasing the excretion of salt and water through your kidneys. By removing salt and water from your blood, it decreases the blood volume, which in turn lowers your blood pressure. Chlorthalidone also causes direct relaxation of the blood vessels, further contributing to lower the blood pressure.

• Telmisartan (40 mg): This component acts as a blocker for the angiotensin II receptors.
