Tempra Syrup 60 ML is given orally.

Tempra Syrup 60 ML contains paracetamol (120 mg) which acts in the body as follows:

• Inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis: Paracetamol primarily works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins in the central nervous system (CNS). Prostaglandins are substances in the body that promote pain, inflammation, and fever.

• Weak inhibition of peripheral cyclooxygenase (COX): Paracetamol is a weak inhibitor of the enzyme COX in the body. This enzyme helps produce prostaglandins. By inhibiting COX, paracetamol reduces the production of prostaglandins, thus managing pain and reducing fever.

• Absorption and metabolism: After oral administration, paracetamol is quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and metabolised in the liver. It is then excreted via urine. Its action in the body lasts for about 2 hours on average.

• Store Tempra Syrup 60 ML at room temperature in a tightly closed container.

• Keep it protected from light.

• Don't expose it to air or moisture.

• Ensure it's always out of your child's reach.

• Remember to use the medicine before its expiry date.

• During fever, keep your child hydrated. Offer plenty of fluids like water, fruit juices, or rehydration solutions such as ORS (Oral Rehydration Salts).

• For pain due to minor injuries or muscle strains, a cold pack can be applied to the affected area. Ensure you wrap the cold pack in a cloth before applying to prevent frostbite.
