Tenoclor 25 Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of high blood pressure or hypertension: This medicine helps lower blood pressure, reducing the risk of strokes and heart attacks.

• Prevention of angina: Angina is chest pain that occurs when the heart muscle doesn't get enough oxygen-rich blood. Tenoclor 25 Tablet can help prevent these episodes.

• Increasing chances of survival after a heart attack: Taking this medicine can help improve survival rates following a serious event like a heart attack.

Here are some instructions on how to take Tenoclor 25 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid breaking, crushing or chewing the tablet.

• The tablet can be taken with or without food, based on your preference or as directed by your doctor.

• Don't stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor first. Stopping abruptly could worsen certain conditions like angina.

• Always follow your doctor's advice on the duration and dosage of this medicine.

Tenoclor 25 Tablet is taken orally.

Tenoclor 25 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Atenolol (25 mg): A cardioselective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocking agent, atenolol works primarily on the heart. It reduces the heart's output, heart rate, and blood pressure by blocking beta-1 receptors in cardiac muscle. At higher doses, it also blocks beta-2 receptors in your body's bronchial and vascular smooth muscles.

• Chlorthalidone (12.5 mg): Classified as a thiazide-like diuretic, chlorthalidone boosts the excretion of sodium, chloride, and water by the kidneys. This leads to a reduction in blood volume and cardiac output, further lowering blood pressure. Additionally, it relaxes vascular smooth muscle, reducing blood pressure via an unknown mechanism.

When combined, atenolol and chlorthalidone decrease blood pressure more than each component alone. They work via complementary mechanisms atenolol reduces cardiac output while chlorthalidone reduces blood volume and vascular resistance.

• Store Tenoclor 25 Tablet at regular room temperature, not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep the medicine in a dry place, away from light and moisture.
