Torglip M 50/1000 Tablet is used for the following:

Torglip M 50/1000 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Metformin (1000 mg): This component works by decreasing glucose production in the liver. It also reduces glucose absorption in the intestines and enhances insulin sensitivity by promoting peripheral glucose uptake and utilisation.

• Vildagliptin (50 mg): Classified as a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, vildagliptin works by blocking an enzyme called DPP-4 that breaks down incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP. By preventing the degradation of these hormones, it increases their action which stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin when blood sugar levels are high.

Together, metformin and vildagliptin improve the body's response to naturally produced insulin, decrease the amount of sugar created by the liver, and increase insulin-dependent glucose uptake in body tissues.
