Urifast SR Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs)

• Prevention of recurrent UTIs

• Relief from bladder infections, also known as cystitis

• Addressing kidney infections, commonly referred to as pyelonephritis

Here's how you should take Urifast SR Tablet:

• Follow the dosage and timing instructions provided by your doctor precisely.

• Do not change or exceed the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.

• Consult your doctor before discontinuing the medication; do not stop taking it without their guidance.

• Adhere to the dietary recommendations given by your doctor.

Urifast SR Tablet is taken orally.

Urifast SR Tablet contains nitrofurantoin (100 mg) which operates in the body as follows:

• Absorption from the GI Tract: After oral administration, nitrofurantoin is absorbed from your gastrointestinal tract and is subsequently concentrated in the urine.

• Damages Bacterial Genetic Material: Once inside the bacterial cells, nitrofurantoin harms their genetic material, effectively killing off the bacteria.

• Resolves Infections: By eliminating the bacteria causing the UTI, nitrofurantoin assists in resolving the infection.

• Sustained Release: The sustained release formulation of this medicine allows it to be released slowly over time, maintaining therapeutic levels and providing continuous antibacterial action.

• Store Urifast SR Tablet in a cool, dry place, ideally at room temperature between 20°C to 25°C.
