Utergin Tablet 10

Utergin Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing postpartum haemorrhage, which is excessive bleeding after childbirth

• Prevention and control of heavy vaginal bleeding following an abortion

• Facilitating the return of the uterus to its pre-pregnancy size, a process known as uterine involution, after childbirth or abortion

Here's how to take your Utergin Tablet:

• The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing, chewing or breaking the tablet.

• The medicine can be taken with or without food.

• Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and do not take more than the recommended dose.

• Always consult your doctor if you have any questions about how to take this medicine correctly.

Utergin Tablet is taken orally.

Utergin Tablet contains Methylergometrine (0.125 mg), which acts on the body in the following ways:

• Stimulates Uterine Contractions: Methylergometrine directly interacts with the smooth muscle of the uterus, increasing the force, frequency and duration of uterine contractions.

• Activates Serotonin Receptors: At a cellular level, Methylergometrine serves as an agonist of serotonin receptors on uterine muscle cells, triggering sustained contractions.

• Improves Uterine Muscle Tone: By enhancing uterine muscle tone and promoting uterine involution, Methylergometrine facilitates clot formation and constricts blood vessels in the uterus, effectively managing postpartum bleeding.

• Store Utergin Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 25°C.

• Keep it in a tightly closed container to protect it from light and moisture.

• Ensure the medicine is kept out of reach of children and pets.

• Always check the expiry date on the pack and avoid using any tablets beyond this date.

• As Utergin Tablet is used for managing postpartum haemorrhage, ensure you maintain good hydration. Drinking plenty of water can help offset fluid loss from bleeding.

• Eat iron-rich foods like spinach, lentils, and lean meats. This can help replenish iron stores in your body, which may be depleted due to excessive bleeding.
