Vagacyte Tablet 2

Vagacyte Tablet 2 is used for the following:

• Managing cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis in adults with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS): This is a viral infection of the eye's retina that can cause vision issues and even blindness if left unchecked.

• Preventing CMV disease in individuals who have received an organ transplant from a CMV-positive donor: This helps to prevent the onset of the disease in patients who have received an organ from a donor who is positive for this virus.

Here's how you should take Vagacyte Tablet 2:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Don't chew, crush or break the tablet.

• Consistency is key try to take this medicine at the same time each day.

• Never increase your dose without consulting your doctor.

Vagacyte Tablet 2 is taken orally.

Vagacyte Tablet 2 contains Valganciclovir (450 mg) which works in the following ways:

• Conversion to Ganciclovir: Once ingested, Valganciclovir is converted into Ganciclovir in your body. Ganciclovir is the active antiviral agent that directly fights the virus.

• Inhibition of Virus Replication: Ganciclovir inhibits the multiplication of the CMV virus in your body cells. By doing so, it prevents the growth and production of new virus particles.

This dual action of Valganciclovir, first transforming into Ganciclovir and then inhibiting the virus multiplication, helps manage and control the spread of CMV infection.
