Veloz Injection 1

Veloz Injection is used for the following:

• Managing gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in patients who can't take oral proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
• Healing active duodenal and gastric ulcers in those who can't take oral medications.
• Controlling Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
• Preventing acid aspiration during general anaesthesia

This medicine should be administered by a healthcare professional. Here are some of the directions for use:

• Reconstitute the injection with 5 mL of 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection, USP. This process turns the powder into a liquid ready for injection.
• Gently shake the solution to dissolve it completely. It should be clear and colourless to pale yellow after reconstitution.
• Administer the reconstituted solution intravenously over a period of 15 to 30 minutes. Do not administer as an intravenous bolus or an intramuscular injection.
• Always consult your doctor for specific advice on how to administer this medicine.

Veloz Injection is administered intravenously.

Veloz Injection contains rabeprazole (20 mg) which has the following effects on your body:

• Inhibits proton pump: Rabeprazole works by blocking the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system in your stomach cells. Also known as the proton pump, this enzyme is responsible for producing gastric acids.
• Reduces gastric acid secretion: By inhibiting the proton pump, rabeprazole effectively reduces gastric acid secretion. This helps manage various acid-related gastrointestinal disorders by providing symptom relief and enabling mucosal healing.
• Bypasses first-pass metabolism: After intravenous administration, rabeprazole avoids first-pass hepatic metabolism, resulting in 100% bioavailability, meaning all of it is available for action in the body.

• Store Veloz Injection vials at a temperature between 20° to 25°C.
• Keep the vials in a dry place, away from direct sunlight.
• It's important to keep Veloz Injection out of the reach of children.
• The reconstituted solution can be stored at room temperature and must be used within 4 hours of preparation.
• Always check the expiry date before administering the injection.

• For individuals dealing with peptic ulcers, consider consuming a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Avoiding caffeine and alcohol may also reduce ulcer symptoms and speed up the healing process.
