Uses of Vilor F Capsule 15
Vilor-F Capsule is used in the following conditions:
- Management of COPD: This capsule is used as maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction and reducing exacerbation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- Management of asthma: This capsule is also used as a maintenance treatment for individuals with asthma. It helps control and prevent asthma symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, coughing, and chest tightness. It also reduces airway inflammation during asthma and help long-term asthma control.
Directions for Use of Vilor F Capsule 15
- Inhale Vilor-F Capsule with an inhaler as directed by your doctor.
- Refer to the enclosed leaflet before using it.
- Do not swallow.
- After inhalation, rinse the mouth with water.
Route of Administration
Vilor-F Capsule is inhaled orally.
Side Effects of Vilor F Capsule 15
The common side effects of Vilor-F Capsule include:
- Headache
- Back pain
- Stomach discomfort
- Respiratory tract infection
- Sinusitis
- Common cold
- Oral candidiasis (fungal mouth infection)
Managing the Side Effects:
Most of the side effects are generally harmless and resolve on discontinuing these capsules. These side effects are temporary and, in most cases, do not require medical attention. To prevent oral candidiasis, it is advisable to rinse the mouth with water after inhalation. Continue taking the medication as prescribed. If side effects worsen or persist, consult your doctor for a possible treatment plan adjustment.
How Vilor F Capsule 15 Works?
Vilor-F Capsule contains the following components:
- Fluticasone (100 mcg): It is an inhaled corticosteroid. It works by reducing inflammation in the airways, which is a key factor in COPD. By decreasing inflammation, it helps prevent exacerbations and symptoms. It's particularly useful for people with COPD who have frequent flare-ups.
- Vilanterol (25 mcg): It is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA). It works by stimulating beta-2 adrenergic receptors in the muscles of the airways. Activation of these receptors causes these muscles to relax, leading to bronchodilation and making breathing easier for individuals with COPD and asthma.

Pregnancy
Caution is advised while taking Vilor-F Capsule during pregnancy. Your doctor will recommend these capsules only if their benefits outweigh the risks. You should inform your doctor before these capsules are prescribed to you during pregnancy.
Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding women should cautiously use Vilor-F Capsule. It is advisable to inform your doctor when these capsules are prescribed to you during breastfeeding.
Liver
Patients with moderate to severe liver impairment should cautiously use Vilor-F Capsule. If you have moderate to severe liver impairment, it's better to consult your doctor before inhaling these capsules.
Kidney
Patients with kidney impairment can safely take Vilor-F Capsule without dose adjustments.

Allergy

Interactions of Vilor F Capsule 15
Drug-Drug Interactions
Vilor-F Capsule can interact with medications, including:
- Antihypertensive medications such as atenolol, labetalol, and metoprolol. These medications can inhibit the effect of this capsule.
- Antidepressants such as amitriptyline, amoxapine, clomipramine, isocarboxazid, and phenelzine. These medications may increase the effect of this capsule in the blood.
- Antifungal agents such as ketoconazole and itraconazole. The concomitant use can increase the blood concentration of corticosteroids.
- Antiretroviral medications such as ritonavir, atazanavir, and indinavir. The concomitant use can increase the risk of systemic side effects.
- Antibiotics such as clarithromycin and telithromycin. The concomitant use can increase the risk of systemic side effects.
- Diuretic medications such as furosemide. The electrocardiographic changes and/or hypokalemia (low potassium levels) associated with diuretics may worsen with concomitant use of this capsule and diuretics.
Drug-Disease Interactions
Vilor-F Capsule can interact with diseases, including:
- Glaucoma (increased eye pressure): This medication may increase intraocular pressure and worsen glaucoma.
- Heart disorders: This medication can worsen the existing condition.
- Seizures: An overdose of this medicine may cause seizures.
- Diabetes: This medication may increase blood glucose levels.
- Hypertension: This medication may increase blood pressure in some individuals.
- Hyperthyroidism: This capsule may worsen hyperthyroidism.
- Viral, bacterial, parasitic, or fungal infection: This medication can worsen these infections.
- Hypercorticism and adrenal suppression: These conditions may occur with very high dosages or at the regular dosage in susceptible individuals and may worsen the existing condition.
- Osteoporosis: This medication can cause bone thinning or weakness and worsen existing condition.
Dosage of Vilor F Capsule 15
Daily Dose
The recommended daily dose of Vilor-F Capsule is as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage may change based on individual factors such as the severity of the condition and response to treatment. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and not exceed it without consulting your doctor.
Over Dose
If you inhale an excessive amount of Vilor-F Capsule by accident, you may experience exaggeration of hypertension, hypotension, increased heart beat, nervousness, headache, tremor, palpitations, muscle cramps, nausea, dizziness, sleep disturbances, metabolic acidosis, hyperglycemia, hypokalemia, for which seeking medical advice is necessary. The excessive doses of this medicine for prolonged periods can cause systemic corticosteroid effects such as hypercorticism. Therefore strict adherence to the prescribed dosage and duration is recommended.
Missed Dose
If you forgot to inhale Vilor-F capsule, take it as soon as you remember. If the time for the next dosage is close, it is recommended to skip the missed one now and resume your regular dosage pattern. Never increase your dosage without consulting your doctor.
Storage
- Store this medicine at a temperature below 30 ºC.
- Protect it from light and moisture.
- Keep Vilor-F Capsule away from children.
