Xarelto 2.5mg Tablet is used for the following:

• Reducing stroke risk and systemic embolism in adults with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation

• Managing deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, and lowering their recurrence risk

• Preventing deep vein thrombosis that could lead to pulmonary embolism in adults undergoing knee or hip replacement surgery

• Prophylaxis of venous thromboembolism in acutely ill medical patients

• Diminishing the risk of major cardiovascular events (such as cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, and stroke) in adults with coronary artery disease or peripheral artery disease when used alongside aspirin

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• You can take the tablet with or without food.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Never exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• It's crucial not to stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Xarelto 2.5mg Tablet is taken orally.

Xarelto 2.5mg Tablet contains rivaroxaban (2.5 mg), which functions in the body through the following mechanisms:

• Selective Inhibition of Factor Xa: Rivaroxaban selectively inhibits Factor Xa, a key enzyme involved in blood clot formation. By inhibiting this enzyme, rivaroxaban disrupts the coagulation cascade that leads to clot formation.

• Reduction of Thrombin Generation: By inhibiting Factor Xa, rivaroxaban effectively decreases thrombin generation, another critical component of blood clotting.

• Prolongation of Clotting Tests: The activity of rivaroxaban also leads to prolongation of certain clotting test times such as prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) and HepTest, indicating its anticoagulant effect.

• Store Xarelto 2.5mg Tablet at a temperature below 30°C.
