Ziprax 100mg Strawberry Flavour Dry Syrup 30ml

Ziprax Dry Syrup is used for managing the following health conditions in children:

• Bacterial infections of the middle ear, also known as otitis media.

• Throat infections caused by bacteria, including tonsillitis and pharyngitis

• Infections of the airways leading to the lungs, such as bronchitis.

• Bacterial infections of the skin and soft tissues.

• Typhoid fever (a severe bacterial infection spread through contaminated food and water)

To give your child Ziprax Dry Syrup correctly, follow these steps:

• Shake the bottle well before each use to ensure the medicine is evenly mixed.

• Use the provided measuring cup or dropper to measure your child's prescribed dose accurately.

• The medicine might have a sweet taste because it's sugar-based. Use caution if your child has diabetes. Consult your doctor about this before giving it to your child.

Ziprax Dry Syrup contains cefixime (100 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Bacteria Cell Wall Destruction: Cefixime disrupts the synthesis of peptidoglycan, a critical component of bacterial cell walls. This leads to the destruction of the bacterial cell wall.

• Inhibition of Bacterial Growth: By disrupting peptidoglycan synthesis, cefixime effectively inhibits the growth and multiplication of bacteria. This helps in managing bacterial infections in children.

• Resistance to Beta-lactamases: Unlike some antibiotics, cefixime is resistant to most beta-lactamases (enzymes produced by certain bacteria that can render antibiotics ineffective). This makes cefixime effective against a wide range of bacteria.

• Broad Spectrum Antibiotic: Cefixime is classified as a broad-spectrum antibiotic because it acts against a wide range of bacteria. This makes it useful in treating various types of bacterial infections.

• Store Ziprax Dry Syrup in a cool and dry place, ideally at room temperature (20-25°C).

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

• Ensure the cap of the bottle is tightly closed to prevent moisture entry.
