Zocef 250 Tablet is used to treat following bacterial infections:

• Respiratory infections: Zocef 250 Tablet helps manage infections in the lungs, causing symptoms like coughing, wheezing, and difficulty breathing.
• Bone and joint infections: Zocef 250 Tablet is used to treat bone and joint infections that cause severe pain, inflammation, and limited mobility.
• Surgical infections: It can be used to prevent infections during surgical procedures by reducing the risk of bacterial contamination.
• Pharyngitis: Pharyngitis and tonsillitis are infections that cause swelling and soreness in the throat and tonsils. If the infection affects both the throat and the tonsils, it is called pharyngotonsillitis. Zocef 250 Tablet treats pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and pharyngotonsillitis.
• Sinusitis: Sinusitis is the swelling of membranes that line your nose and surrounding sinuses. It is often caused by bacteria and, sometimes, viruses and fungi. You may experience a stuffy nose and pain or pressure behind your eyes, nose, cheeks, or forehead. Zocef 250 Tablet is used to treat bacterial sinusitis and provides relief in three to eight weeks.
• Bronchitis: Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs. Zocef 250 Tablet is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria. It is also used to treat a sudden worsening of chronic bronchitis (long-term bronchi inflammation) and subsequent bronchitis episodes.
• Skin and soft tissue infections: Skin and soft tissue infections occur when bacteria invade the skin and its supporting structures. Zocef 250 Tablet treats all skin infections, including abscesses caused by bacteria.
• Urinary tract infections: An infection in your urinary system (kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra) is called a urinary tract infection (UTI). UTIs are the most common infections in humans, and women are at greater risk of getting this infection. Bacteria cause UTIs and, in some cases, viruses or fungi. Zocef 250 Tablet treats urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.
• Lyme disease: Lyme disease is an infection resulting from Borrelia burgdorferi. This infection is spread to humans through the bite of infected black-legged ticks that carry the bacteria. This condition can be treated in a few weeks by using antibiotics. Zocef 250 Tablet treats Lyme disease.
• Middle Ear Infections (Media Otitis): Zocef 250 Tablet can treat middle ear infections common in children. The medication is effective against many bacteria that cause middle ear infections, including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and Moraxella catarrhalis.

To use Zocef 250 Tablet:

• Consult your doctor for the appropriate dosage and duration of treatment.
• You can take the tablet with or without food.
• Do not crush or chew it.
• Follow your doctor's instructions strictly; do not stop taking the medicine before completing the full course.

Oral

Zocef 250 Tablet contains cefuroxime as its active ingredient.

• Cefuroxime works by binding to the outer layer of bacteria and blocking the activity of an enzyme involved in cell wall synthesis leading to bacterial cell death.
• It is effective against various gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
• Cefuroxime specifically targets bacteria responsible for urinary tract infections, lower respiratory tract infections, uncomplicated gonorrhoea, and Lyme disease.

• Store Zocef 250 Tablet in a cool and dry place.
• Protect it from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Keep the medicine out of reach and sight of children.

• Maintain a healthy diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to support your body's immune system.
• Stay hydrated by drinking an adequate amount of water throughout the day.
• Get enough rest and sleep to allow your body to recover and heal.
• Practice good hygiene, such as washing hands regularly, to prevent the spread of infections.
