Zofer Syrup 30ml

Zofer Syrup interacts with the following medicines:

• Serotonergic medicines like fluoxetine and venlafaxine may interact with Zofer Syrup, potentially increasing the risk of a condition called serotonin syndrome. This is when the medicine causes the body to release too much serotonin. Symptoms may include agitation, restlessness, diarrhoea, high blood pressure and more.
• Opioid analgesics like tramadol may interact with Zofer Syrup and may reduce the analgesic effect and cause irregular beating of the heart and an increased risk of serotonin syndrome, leading to decreased pain relief.
• Medicines that prolong the QT interval, like antiarrhythmics such as quinidine, can lengthen the QT interval in your heart rhythm. When combined with Zofer Syrup, this could potentially lead to serious heart problems.

Zofer Syrup has known interactions with certain foods:

• Grapefruit juice: Drinking grapefruit juice while taking Zofer Syrup may increase the amount of the medication in your body, potentially leading to more side effects.

Zofer Syrup interacts with the following diseases:

• Liver disease: If your child has liver disease, their body may process Zofer Syrup more slowly. This could lead to increased levels of the medicine and more side effects.
• Heart rhythm disorders: For children with a history of prolonged QT interval or congenital long QT syndrome, Zofer Syrup use should be closely monitored as it may cause dose-dependent QT interval prolongation, which can lead to serious cardiac arrhythmias.

Your doctor will prescribe the daily dose of Zofer Syrup for your child. This might change depending on the severity of the symptoms and how your child responds to the medicine.

An overdose of Zofer Syrup may lead to side effects like headaches, constipation, diarrhoea, and fatigue in children. If your child experiences these persistently after taking more than the prescribed dose of this medication, inform your doctor immediately.

If you forget to give Zofer Syrup to your child, give it as soon as you remember. However, if it's nearly time for your child's next dose, skip the missed one and continue with the regular schedule.
