Zoxan D Eye/ear Drops 10ml

Zoxan-D Eye/Ear Drops are used for the following health conditions:

• Managing bacterial infections in the eye: This includes conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers caused by bacteria.

• Controlling inflammation in the eye: The drops are useful in managing conditions like uveitis, keratitis, or scleritis that cause inflammation.

• Treating bacterial infections in the ear: These could include otitis media or otitis externa caused by susceptible bacteria.

Administer Zoxan-D Eye/Ear Drops as suggested below:

• Always wash your hands before you start. This will help to prevent any potential contamination.

• Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid (for eye drops) or gently pull your earlobe up and back (for ear drops) to open up the passageway.

• Squeeze out the prescribed number of drops into your eye or ear without touching the dropper tip to any surface, including your eyes or ears, to avoid contamination.

• Close your eye or keep your head tilted for a few minutes so that the medicine can spread evenly.

• Always replace the cap immediately after use.

This medication consists of three active ingredients:

• Ciprofloxacin (0.3%): As an antibiotic, ciprofloxacin stops bacterial growth by inhibiting an enzyme called DNA-gyrase that bacteria need to replicate their DNA.

• Dexamethasone (0.1%): This is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the body. It achieves this by blocking the release of certain chemicals in the body that cause inflammation.

• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.01%): This component acts as a disinfectant and antiseptic. It works by disrupting the structure of bacterial cells, thereby killing them and preventing further growth.
