Zycel-200 Capsule is used for:

• Managing pain, inflammation and stiffness associated with osteoarthritis

• Reducing joint pain and swelling in rheumatoid arthritis

• Alleviating back pain and stiffness in ankylosing spondylitis

• Providing relief from short-term acute pain

• Easing menstrual cramps and associated pain, known as primary dysmenorrhoea

• Controlling symptoms in children aged 2 years and above diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis

To take Zycel-200 Capsule correctly, follow these steps:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the capsule.

• You can take it with or without food, as per your preference.

• Always adhere to the dosage instructions given by your doctor.

• It's crucial not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Zycel-200 Capsule contains celecoxib (200 mg), which works on your body in the following ways:

• Selective Inhibition of COX-2 Enzymes: Celecoxib blocks cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes. These enzymes are involved in producing prostaglandins that cause inflammation, pain, and fever. By inhibiting COX-2, celecoxib reduces these symptoms.

• Minimal Effect on COX-1 Enzymes: Unlike non-selective NSAIDs that block both COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, celecoxib predominantly targets only COX-2 while sparing COX-1 enzymes that maintain normal gastric mucosa and platelet functions. This selective action reduces the risk of stomach ulcers and bleeding often associated with non-selective NSAIDs.

• Store Zycel-200 Capsule at a moderate room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep the capsules away from excessive light and moisture to retain their effectiveness.
