Alkacitron Syrup is used for the following:

• Management of gout, a condition characterised by high levels of uric acid in the body

• Prevention of kidney stones, which can cause severe pain and other complications

• Managing urinary tract infections (UTIs), inflammation of the urinary system often caused by bacteria

• Addressing other kidney and metabolic disorders resulting from elevated levels of uric acid

To take Alkacitron Syrup correctly, follow these steps:

• Shake the medicine bottle well each time before use.

• Mix your prescribed amount of syrup with water in a glass.

• Slowly drink this mixture after your meals.

• Remember to drink plenty of fluids while you're using this syrup.

• This medicine contains sugar, so if you have diabetes, consult your doctor before taking it.

Alkacitron Syrup is taken orally.

Alkacitron Syrup contains citric acid (1380 mg), which acts on the body as follows:

• Urine Alkalinisation: Citric acid metabolises into bicarbonate upon ingestion, leading to an increase in urinary pH and making your urine more alkaline. This shift in pH allows uric acid to dissolve more easily in the urine.

• Uric Acid Dissolution: With the alkaline environment, uric acid solubility increases, allowing it to dissolve better in urine. Once dissolved, it can easily be eliminated from your body through urination.
