Gabafix Gel is used for the management of:

• Neuropathic pain, which is pain caused by damage or dysfunction in the nervous system.

• Postherpetic neuralgia, a condition causing persistent pain after recovery from shingles.

• Diabetic peripheral neuropathy, a nerve damage complication resulting from diabetes.

• Trigeminal neuralgia, a chronic pain condition affecting the trigeminal nerve in the face.

• Phantom limb pain, a complex condition experienced in an arm or leg that is not physically present.

• Other peripheral neuropathic pain conditions, which are various pains caused by damage to your peripheral nerves.

To use Gabafix Gel correctly, follow these steps:

• Ensure your skin is clean and dry before application.

• Apply a thin layer of the gel on the affected area.

• Gently rub it in until fully absorbed.

• After application, make sure to wash your hands thoroughly.

• Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, mouth, and other mucous membranes.

• Leave the treated area uncovered; do not bandage or wrap it.

Gabafix Gel employs a unique blend of five active ingredients that work simultaneously to alleviate neuropathic pain:

• Capsaicin (0.035%): Extracted from chili peppers, capsaicin initially stimulates pain receptors but subsequently desensitises them with repeated use, resulting in a reduction of pain.

• Diclofenac Diethylamine (5%): As a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), it works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes which subsequently reduces inflammation and alleviates pain.

• Menthol (5%): This ingredient activates cold receptors in the skin, creating a cooling sensation that distracts from the perception of pain. Menthol also has mild analgesic and anaesthetic effects.

• Methyl Salicylate (10%): This compound related to aspirin reduces pain and inflammation through inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.

• Pregabalin (8%): An anticonvulsant drug, pregabalin binds to calcium channels in the nervous system, reducing the release of pain signalling molecules.
