• Silodosin can be taken orally (tablet and capsule).

Age and Dose Restrictions

• Silodosin is intended for use by adults above 18 years of age.

Contraindications

• It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Silodosin and patients with liver and kidny diseases.

Other Medications To Avoid With This Medicine

• Avoid taking antifungals (itraconazole), blood pressure-lowering medications (verapamil), antivirals (ritonavir0, immune-suppressing medications (cyclosporine), antibiotics (clarithromycin), and medications for erectile dysfunction (sildenafil) with Silodosin. It may affect the safety and effectiveness of Silodosin.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• In case you accidentally take an overdose of this medication and experience severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor as overosage may cause dizziness, fainting, lightheadedness and blurred vision. Therefore, strict adherence to the prescribed dose is essential.
• If you miss a dose of Silodosin, take it as soon as you remember. But, if the next dose is near, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dosing regime.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

• This medication may impair the ability to drive and operate machinery.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• This medication is not recommended in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Caution In Other Conditions

• Caution is advised in elderly patients and patients who have to undergo eye surgery.
• Avoid alcohol consumption as it can aggravate the orthostatic hypotension caused by this medicine.

Special Dietary & Lifestyle Recommendation

• Reduce the intake of substances that increase diuresis like coffee, and alcohol.
• Perform regular pelvic exercises for symptomatic relief. 
• In case of anticipated eye surgery for cataracts, or glaucoma, inform the doctor about your consumption of this medicine.
• Get your PSA (Prostate-specific antigen) levels checked regularly to rule out the development of cancer in the prostate gland as well as to document improvement in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.
