Acitrom 1 Tablet 30

Acitrom 1 Tablet is used to manage Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), Pulmonary Embolism (PE), Atrial Fibrillation, heart attacks, and prevent blood clots in prosthetic heart valves and recurrent venous thromboembolism.

Here's how you should take Acitrom 1 Tablet:

• Strictly follow the dosage and timing instructions provided by your doctor for this medication.
• Do not change or exceed the prescribed dose without your doctor's approval.
• Consult your doctor before discontinuing this medication; do not stop taking it without their guidance.
• Adhere to the dietary recommendations given by your doctor.

Acitrom 1 Tablet is taken orally.

Acitrom 1 Tablet contains Nicoumalone (1 mg), which has a specific mechanism of action:

• Inhibits Vitamin K Cycle: Nicoumalone works by hindering the interconversion of vitamin K and its epoxide (vitamin K epoxide). This action reduces the production of clotting proteins that are dependent on vitamin K.
• Decreases Blood Clotting Proteins: By disrupting the vitamin K cycle, Nicoumalone effectively decreases the production of certain blood clotting proteins in the liver, such as Factor II (prothrombin), VII, IX and X, along with anticoagulant proteins C and S.
• Delays Clot Formation: The reduction in these proteins increases the time it takes for a blood clot to form. This makes it less likely for harmful clots to develop within blood vessels.

• Keep Acitrom 1 Tablet in a closed container, away from direct light and moisture.
• Store at room temperature, ideally between 15°C to 30°C.
• Avoid places with excessive heat or cold, such as near radiators or refrigerators.
• Always keep out of reach of children.
• Use it before the expiry date marked on the package.

• Maintain a consistent diet: sudden changes, especially increasing green leafy vegetables high in vitamin K can affect how Acitrom 1 Tablet works in your body.
• Limit your alcohol consumption: Excessive alcohol can increase the risk of stomach bleeding when you are taking Acitrom 1 Tablet. If you do drink, keep it to a minimum.
