Acnicin Gel is commonly used to manage acne vulgaris. This product is a combination medicine comprising a retinoid and an antibiotic, and is also beneficial in treating both inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne lesions. It contains adapalene and clindamycin.
The retinoid component normalises skin cell turnover and prevents clogged pores, while the antibiotic component reduces acne-causing bacteria, together clearing acne and preventing new breakouts from forming.
Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin once daily, usually in the evening, as your doctor advises, and continue regular use for the full course, since acne treatments generally take several weeks to show visible improvement.
Avoid applying to broken or irritated skin, and avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and nostrils. Use sun protection during the day, as this medicine can increase sensitivity to sunlight.
