Ajaduo 10Mg/5Mg Tablet 10

AjaDuo 10/5 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus and lower cardiovascular risk in eligible adults.

Uses of AjaDuo 10/5 Tablet are:

• Type 2 Diabetes Control: Combines two mechanisms to lower blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes.
• Cardiovascular Protection: Reduces the risk of cardiovascular death and heart failure hospitalisation in adults with type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

Here's how you should take AjaDuo 10mg / 5mg Tablet:

• Take this medicine orally once daily in the morning. You can take it with or without food.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid splitting, crushing, or chewing it.

• Never exceed your prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.

• Make sure not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

• Keep a regular check on your blood sugar levels and HbA1c, as advised by your doctor.

AjaDuo 10mg / 5mg Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Empagliflozin (10 mg): This component works by selectively inhibiting a protein called sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) in your kidneys. By blocking SGLT2, empagliflozin prevents glucose reabsorption, which leads to the excretion of excess glucose in urine and thus reduces blood glucose levels.

• Linagliptin (5 mg): As a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, linagliptin works by suppressing the activity of the DPP-4 enzyme. This action amplifies and extends the effect of incretins, which are natural hormones that increase insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells when glucose is present. Linagliptin, therefore, boosts your body's ability to keep blood glucose levels under control.

• Store AjaDuo 10mg / 5mg Tablet at or below 30°C in a dry place.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

• Always ensure the medicine is kept out of reach of children.

• Do not use the tablet beyond its expiry date.
