Alaspan AG Syrup is used for managing cough with excessive mucus, often seen in the common cold, and helping manage acute bronchitis.

• Productive Cough: Manages cough with excessive mucus, commonly seen in the common cold.
• Acute Bronchitis: Helps manage cough and chest congestion associated with acute bronchitis.

Follow these steps while taking Alaspan AG Syrup:

• Use a spoon or provided measuring cup to measure the correct dose of the syrup.

• Keep the bottle well-capped after every use.

• This medicine is sugar-based and needs caution for use in diabetic patients. If you have diabetes, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

• Ask the doctor for specific instructions regarding when and how to take this syrup.

Alaspan AG Syrup is taken orally.

Alaspan AG Syrup is a combination of three active ingredients:

• Loratadine (5 mg): This non-sedating antihistamine helps manage allergy symptoms. It works by selectively blocking certain receptors called H1 receptors located outside the central nervous system. This stabilises cells responsible for releasing histamine, a compound that triggers allergy symptoms, thus reducing symptoms such as sneezing and itching.

• Ambroxol (30 mg): This mucolytic agent works by increasing the secretion of fluid-like mucus in your respiratory tract and stimulating the production of a substance called pulmonary surfactant. This action reduces mucus stickiness and viscosity, facilitating its transport out of your body and easing coughing.

• Guaifenesin (50 mg): As an expectorant, guaifenesin increases the volume and reduces the stickiness of secretions in your respiratory tract. It acts on specific receptors in your stomach, triggering a series of responses that lead to more fluid-like mucus production. This makes it easier for tiny, hair-like structures called cilia in your bronchi to move mucus out of your body.

• Store Alaspan AG Syrup at room temperature, below 25 °C. 

• Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from moisture. 

• Ensure the bottle is tightly closed when not in use. 

• Do not freeze the syrup. 

• Keep it out of the reach of children.

• If you are managing a cough with excessive mucus, drink plenty of fluids to help thin the mucus, making it easier to cough up.

• Identify and avoid environmental allergens.

• Regularly vacuum and clean bed linens to reduce exposure to dust and mites.
