Alex Junior Syrup 60ml

Alex Junior Syrup is used for the following:

• Providing temporary relief from cough in children

• Managing symptoms associated with the common cold in children

• Alleviating symptoms of hay fever in children

• Relieving upper respiratory allergies in children

• Reducing sneezing and runny nose in children

• Easing itching of the nose and throat in children

• Minimising itchy/watery eyes in children.

• Use the provided measuring cup to measure the right dose of syrup.

• Shake the bottle well before each use.

• This medicine is sugar-based and needs caution for use in diabetic patients. If your child has diabetes, consult your doctor before giving them this medicine.

• Ensure to keep the bottle capped tightly after use.

Alex Junior Syrup is given orally.

Alex Junior Syrup contains two active ingredients:

Chlorpheniramine (2 mg): This is a first-generation antihistamine that works by blocking histamine activity at H1-receptor sites in the nose, eyes, and airways. By doing so, it reduces reactions such as inflammation and mucus secretion which are common in allergic responses.

Dextromethorphan (5 mg): This cough suppressant acts by crossing into the brain and binding to certain receptors in the medulla. This action helps elevate the cough threshold and diminishes sensitivity to cough reflexes in the central nervous system thereby reducing frequent coughing.

• Store Alex Junior Syrup at room temperature.

• Keep the syrup in a tightly closed container to protect it from light and moisture.

• Avoid refrigerating or freezing the syrup.

• Always keep the syrup out of the reach of children.

• Use Alex Junior Syrup before its expiry date for maximum effectiveness.

• If your child has a cough or cold, ensure they drink plenty of fluids. This helps in managing mucus secretion and prevents dehydration.

• Encourage a smoke-free environment around your child as exposure to second-hand smoke can aggravate coughing and upper respiratory symptoms.
