Allercet M Syrup 60ml

Allercet M Syrup is used in children aged two years and above to manage allergic conditions affecting the nose and skin. It helps control symptoms of both perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, nasal congestion, and runny nose. The syrup is also prescribed for chronic idiopathic urticaria to reduce itching and wheals, and it supports asthma prevention by lowering allergic airway inflammation. Additionally, it is used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm in susceptible children.

Administer Allercet M Syrup to your child as follows:

• Use the provided measuring cup or dropper to measure the correct dose of the syrup.

• Ensure to give this medicine at the same time each day, preferably in the evening.

• If a dose is missed, skip it and continue with the next scheduled dose. Do not double the dose.

• Keep the bottle well-capped after use.

• This medicine is sugar-based and needs caution for use in diabetic patients. If your child has diabetes, consult your doctor before giving them this medicine.

Allercet M Syrup is given orally.

Allercet M Syrup comprises two active components:

• Levocetirizine (2.5 mg): This component is a potent histamine H1-receptor antagonist. It works by stabilizing mast cells and eosinophils, which are types of white blood cells involved in allergic reactions. By doing so, it reduces the body's response to histamine, a compound that causes allergy symptoms such as itching, redness and swelling.

• Montelukast (4 mg): This ingredient belongs to a class of medicines known as leukotriene receptor antagonists. It specifically blocks the action of cysteinyl leukotrienes, substances produced by your body during an allergic reaction that cause inflammation and narrowing of airways in the lungs. This helps reduce inflammation and constriction in the airways, providing relief from asthma symptoms.

Together, these two components work synergistically to provide effective relief from allergic symptoms and control asthma in children.

• Store Allercet M Syrup in a cool place, ideally at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• The syrup should be kept away from direct sunlight and moisture to maintain its efficacy.

• Always keep this medicine out of your child's reach.

• Remember to use Allercet M Syrup before its expiry date.

• If your child suffers from allergic rhinitis, keep the living environment dust-free as much as possible. Regular cleaning and use of air purifiers can be beneficial.

• For children with asthma, avoiding exposure to triggers such as smoke, pollen or pet dander can help manage symptoms.

• Physical activity is also important but should be supervised by an adult to ensure the child doesn't overexert themselves.
