Amlodac-D Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure.

Amlodac-D Tablet is a combination medication with two active ingredients:

• Amlodipine (5 mg): This ingredient belongs to the dihydropyridine class of calcium channel blockers (CCBs). It works by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions across cell membranes in vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle. This action leads to peripheral arterial vasodilation (widening of blood vessels), which reduces vascular resistance (pressure against which the heart has to pump), increases blood flow and ultimately lowers blood pressure.

• Indapamide (1.5 mg): As a thiazide like diuretic that's chemically related to sulfonamides, indapamide works by increasing the excretion of sodium, chloride, potassium and water by the kidneys. This results in reduced blood volume and preload (the volume of blood in the heart at the end of filling), thereby lowering cardiac output (the amount of blood pumped by the heart). It also relaxes vascular smooth muscle cells, decreasing peripheral vascular resistance and further lowering blood pressure.

By acting through different mechanisms, these two components provide additive antihypertensive effects for effective blood pressure control.

• Store your Amlodac-D Tablet in a cool, dry place where the temperature stays below 30°C.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and moisture, as these can damage the medicine.
