Amoxyclav 1.2G Injection 1

Amoxyclav 1.2g Injection is utilised for treating:

• Bacterial infections of the respiratory tract
• Bacterial infections of the urinary tract
• Infections of the skin and soft tissues
• Infections of the bones and joints
• Gynaecological infections
• Dental and oral infections

Follow these instructions while receiving Amoxyclav 1.2g Injection:

• This medicine will be administered by a healthcare professional.
• Do not attempt to self-administer this medicine unless specifically instructed by your doctor.
• This medicine is usually given in a hospital or clinical setting. In some cases, it may be administered at home under medical supervision.
• Follow your doctor's advice regarding the duration of treatment and any follow-up appointments.

Amoxyclav 1.2g Injection is administered intravenously.

Amoxyclav 1.2g Injection contains two active ingredients:

• Amoxicillin (1000 mg): This is a penicillin-type antibiotic that works by preventing bacteria from forming cell walls. The cell wall protects bacteria and keeps their contents from leaking out. By disrupting the formation of these protective walls, amoxicillin causes susceptible bacteria to break down and die.
• Clavulanic Acid (200 mg): This component does not act directly against bacteria. Instead, it blocks the activity of bacterial enzymes called beta-lactamases. Some bacteria produce these enzymes to resist the effects of antibiotics such as amoxicillin. By inhibiting beta-lactamases, clavulanic acid helps amoxicillin work more effectively against susceptible bacteria.

Together, these two components work together to treat susceptible bacterial infections effectively.

• Store Amoxyclav 1.2g Injection at room temperature, ideally below 25°C. Do not freeze.
• Keep it away from direct light and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.
• Ensure the injection is out of reach and sight of children.
• Always check the expiry date before use; don't use it if it's past this date

• Follow a balanced diet during treatment and maintain adequate fluid intake, especially if you experience diarrhoea or vomiting.
• Complete the full course of antibiotic treatment as prescribed by your doctor, even if your symptoms improve earlier.
