Atorlip-40 Tablet is used to manage high cholesterol and triglyceride levels in adults and to help reduce the risk of heart-related complications such as heart attack and stroke, including in people with a genetic condition called familial hypercholesterolaemia.

Uses of Atorlip-40 Tablet are:

• Cholesterol Control: Manages high cholesterol levels in the blood.
• Cardiovascular Protection: Reduces the risk of heart attack, stroke and other heart-related complications.
• Mixed Dyslipidaemia: Controls conditions with both high cholesterol and high triglycerides.
• Familial Hypercholesterolaemia: Helps manage this inherited condition causing very high cholesterol.

Here's how you should take Atorlip 40 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• The medicine can be taken at any time of the day, with or without food.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without first consulting your doctor.

Atorlip 40 Tablet is taken orally.

Atorlip 40 Tablet contains atorvastatin (40 mg), which works on your body through the following mechanisms:

• Blocks HMG-CoA reductase: Atorvastatin hinders an enzyme in your body called HMG-CoA reductase. This enzyme is responsible for making cholesterol inside your body.

• Reduces blood cholesterol: By blocking the activity of HMG-CoA reductase, atorvastatin effectively lowers the levels of cholesterol in your blood.

• Store Atorlip 40 Tablet in a tightly closed container.

• Keep the medicine at room temperature

• Protect the tablets from excessive light and moisture.

• Make sure you keep it out of reach and sight of children.

• Use your medicine before the expiry date indicated on the packaging.

• Adopt a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet to facilitate the management of high cholesterol levels that Atorlip 40 Tablet is used to manage. This includes reducing intake of saturated fats and trans fats found in fried foods, butter, full-fat dairy products and processed meats.

• Engage in regular exercise like walking, cycling, or swimming. This helps increase your HDL (good cholesterol) levels while lowering LDL (bad cholesterol) levels and triglycerides, further supporting the beneficial effects of Atorlip 40 Tablet on your cholesterol levels.
