CompositionAtorva Gold 20 Capsule is used to manage high cholesterol and triglyceride levels and help prevent heart attacks and strokes in high-risk patients. It is a combination medicine containing atorvastatin (a statin) and aspirin and clopidogrel (antiplatelet medicines).
It is typically used after a recent heart attack or stroke, or in people with established peripheral arterial or coronary artery disease, and it lowers LDL cholesterol, raises HDL cholesterol and helps prevent blood clots. Take it in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and do not stop it without medical advice, as this can increase the risk of a clot.
Follow a heart-healthy diet low in saturated fats (fried food, ghee, butter), stay physically active and avoid smoking.
Before starting, tell your doctor about any bleeding problems, stomach ulcers, liver disease or planned surgery and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Report unusual or heavy bleeding, or persistent muscle pain or weakness, to your doctor. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
