Azikem 500 Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections by stopping the growth of bacteria.

Uses of Azikem 500 Tablet are:

• Respiratory and ENT Infections: Treats infections of the lungs, throat, sinuses and ears.
• Skin and Eye Infections: Manages bacterial infections of the skin and eyes.
• Other Infections: Treats typhoid fever and certain sexually transmitted infections.

• Take Azikem 500 Tablet ideally on an empty stomach, either an hour before a meal or two hours afterwards.

• Even if you feel better, don't stop taking Azikem 500 Tablet until your prescribed course is finished. Stopping prematurely may cause the infection to return or worsen.

The active ingredient in Azikem 500 Tablet is azithromycin (500 mg). Here's how it works:

• Binding to Bacteria: Azithromycin binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria. The 50S subunit is a part of the protein-making machine inside bacterial cells, so when azithromycin binds to it, it interferes with protein production.
