Azopt Ophthalmic Suspension is used to lower raised pressure inside the eye (intraocular pressure) in adults with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It contains brinzolamide, and keeping eye pressure controlled helps protect the optic nerve.
Brinzolamide works by reducing the production of fluid inside the eye, which lowers the pressure within the eye and helps protect the optic nerve from the damage that raised eye pressure can cause over time.
Shake the bottle well before use, then instil the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye, as your doctor advises, and use it regularly for consistent pressure control.
Remove contact lenses before use and wait at least fifteen minutes before reinserting them. Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, as brinzolamide needs caution in these conditions.
