CompositionAztor ASP 75 Capsule 10 is used to lower cholesterol and prevent blood clots in adults with heart or blood vessel disease, reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke. It is a combination medicine containing atorvastatin, a statin, and aspirin 75mg, an antiplatelet.
This medicine is used in people who need both a statin and low-dose aspirin, such as after a heart attack or stroke, or with angina. Swallow the capsule whole with water, preferably after a meal, as prescribed, and keep taking it even when you feel well. Do not stop it without medical advice.
A heart-healthy diet, regular exercise, keeping a healthy weight, limiting alcohol and not smoking all support your heart.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have a stomach ulcer or bleeding, a bleeding disorder, asthma triggered by aspirin, liver or kidney disease, muscle problems, or gout, and about other medicines you take, especially blood thinners and painkillers. Do not take it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor or dentist that you take it before surgery or dental work. Report black stools, vomiting of blood or unusual bleeding. Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, especially with fever or dark urine, straight away. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
