CompositionB AQ PFS Injection is used to manage vitamin B12 deficiency in adults. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing methylcobalamin, an active form of vitamin B12, and belongs to a class of medicines called vitamin supplements.
This medicine works by replacing the vitamin B12 the body is missing, which supports healthy nerves and the making of normal red blood cells. It is also used to manage peripheral neuropathy, which is damage to the nerves in the hands and feet, and megaloblastic anaemia, where red blood cells are larger than normal. It is a pre-filled syringe that should be given only by a doctor or healthcare professional, who will decide the dose and how long you need it.
Eating foods rich in vitamin B12, such as eggs, dairy products and fish, may help support your levels alongside this treatment, if suitable for your diet.
Before receiving this medicine, tell your doctor about any other conditions you have, any allergy to vitamin B12 or cobalt, and any other medicines you take. It must be given by a doctor or healthcare professional. Tell your doctor promptly if you notice severe swelling, rash or breathing difficulty after the injection.
