CompositionBaclof 10 Tablet is used to relieve muscle stiffness and spasms (spasticity) caused by conditions of the brain and spinal cord, such as multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injury. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing baclofen, which belongs to a class of medicines called centrally acting muscle relaxants.
This medicine is also used to reduce muscle tightness in cerebral palsy and some other neurological conditions, helping to ease painful spasms and improve movement. Your doctor will usually start with a low dose and increase it slowly. Take it with food or milk, exactly as prescribed.
Regular physiotherapy and stretching, as advised, can help keep muscles flexible. Getting up slowly can reduce dizziness.
Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, as this can cause serious withdrawal effects such as confusion, hallucinations, fits and worsening stiffness; your doctor will reduce the dose gradually. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, epilepsy, a stomach ulcer, a mental health condition, or difficulty passing urine, and about other medicines you take. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It may cause drowsiness, so avoid driving and alcohol if affected. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
