CompositionBendex Suspension is used to treat worm infections, including roundworm, pinworm, hookworm, whipworm and tapeworm. It also treats deeper infections such as hydatid disease and neurocysticercosis (where tapeworm larvae affect the brain).
It contains albendazole, a broad-spectrum anthelmintic. It works by stopping the worms taking up the sugars they need, which kills them.
Take it as prescribed; some infections need a single dose, while deeper infections need a longer course. Good hygiene helps prevent reinfection.
Do not use it in pregnancy. Tell your doctor about any liver problems or low blood counts before use, particularly for long courses when blood and liver tests may be needed.
