Cardace Protect 5 Tablet is used for:

• Lowering the likelihood of heart attacks, strokes and cardiovascular fatalities in individuals identified as high-risk patients.

• Enhancing survival rates in patients suffering from heart failure, following a heart attack.

Here are some guidelines to follow while taking Cardace Protect 5 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Resist the urge to crush or chew it.

• The medicine can be taken with or without food according to your preference, but try to maintain a consistent schedule.

• Always stick to the prescribed dose and don't exceed it without discussing it with your doctor.

• Don't stop taking the medicine abruptly. Instead, consult your doctor if you feel the need to discontinue its usage.

Cardace Protect 5 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Atorvastatin (10 mg): This substance belongs to a group of medicines called statins. It works by blocking a liver enzyme responsible for cholesterol production, reducing LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and apolipoprotein B in your body. It also increases HDL cholesterol, often referred to as "good cholesterol".

• Ramipril (5 mg): It falls under the category of ACE inhibitors. Ramipril prevents the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, which reduces angiotensin II-mediated narrowing of blood vessels and secretion of a hormone called aldosterone. This action helps in lowering blood pressure and peripheral resistance, beneficial in managing hypertension.
