Cefoprox CV-325 Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, throat, ears and urinary tract. It combines cefpodoxime, a cephalosporin antibiotic, with clavulanic acid, which helps overcome resistance in certain bacteria.
Cefpodoxime works by stopping bacteria from building their protective cell wall, which kills the bacteria, while clavulanic acid blocks an enzyme that some resistant bacteria use to destroy cefpodoxime, extending its effectiveness and helping control infection spread.
Take this tablet with food at evenly spaced intervals, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and complete the full course even if you feel better early.
Tell your doctor if you have a known allergy to penicillins or cephalosporins. Report persistent loose motions (diarrhoea), as this can occasionally indicate a more serious antibiotic-related bowel condition needing medical review.
