Choltran Sachet is used to help lower high cholesterol in adults and to relieve itching caused by partial blockage of the bile ducts, as well as manage bile acid-related diarrhoea.

Uses of Choltran Sachet are:

• High Cholesterol: Lowers LDL cholesterol by binding bile acids in the intestine.
• Biliary Pruritus: Relieves itching caused by partial blockage of the bile ducts.
• Bile Acid Diarrhoea: Helps manage diarrhoea related to excess bile acids.

Use Choltran Sachet as follows:

• Mix the powder thoroughly with 2-6 ounces of water, juice, or soft food.

• Consume it immediately after mixing. Don't store the mixture for future use.

• Rinse your glass with more liquid to ensure you take the entire dose.

Choltran Sachet contains cholestyramine (4 gm), which works on your body as follows:

• Binds to Bile Acids: Cholestyramine forms a bond with bile acids present in your intestine, creating an insoluble complex that leaves your body through the faeces.

• Interrupts Enterohepatic Circulation: The binding of cholestyramine with bile acids disrupts their normal recycling process within the body. This results in your liver converting more cholesterol into bile acids.

• Reduces Cholesterol Levels: As a result of an increased conversion of cholesterol into bile acids, there is a decrease in the levels of LDL-cholesterol and total cholesterol in your blood.

• Store Choltran Sachet below 25°C in a cool, dry place.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and moisture.
