Cifran Eye/Ear Drops are used for managing eye infections such as bacterial conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers, and ear infections such as chronic suppurative otitis media and external otitis.

Uses of Cifran Eye/Ear Drops are:

• Eye Infections: Treats bacterial conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers.
• Ear Infections: Manages chronic suppurative otitis media and external otitis (otitis externa).

Follow these steps when using Cifran Eye/Ear Drops:

• Clean your hands thoroughly before application.

• For eye drops: Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the bottle close to your eye without touching it and squeeze gently to release the drops. Follow your doctor's instructions for dosage.

• For ear drops: Tilt your head to one side. Hold the bottle close to your ear without touching it and squeeze gently to release the drops. Follow your doctor's instructions for dosage.

• Keep your head tilted or eyes closed for about a minute to allow the drops to be absorbed.

• Wipe off any excess solution with a clean tissue.

Cifran Eye/Ear Drops contains two active ingredients that work together to fight against bacterial infections:

• Ciprofloxacin (0.3%): This ingredient is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that acts on bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes. These enzymes are essential for bacterial DNA replication and transcription. By inhibiting their activity, ciprofloxacin prevents the bacteria from multiplying and spreading, effectively managing the infection.

• Benzalkonium chloride (0.012%): This component works as a preservative in the solution. Its function is to prevent microbial contamination of the solution, maintaining its effectiveness throughout its shelf life.

• Always store Cifran Eye/Ear Drops at a steady room temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep the medicine bottle tightly closed to keep out air and moisture.

• Protect the bottle from direct sunlight and any kind of heat source.

• Make sure to store it in a place inaccessible to children.

• Use the solution within one month after opening the container.

• If you have an eye or ear infection, make sure to maintain high standards of hygiene. Wash your hands frequently to prevent further bacterial spread, especially before applying Cifran Eye/Ear Drops.

• Avoid swimming in public pools or other bodies of water that might be contaminated, as this can worsen ear infections.
